Last assignment for interpretive illustration class, done without art direction and rough consultation: Illustrate the Cowboy.

I chose to express the fact that most of the original 'cowboys' were actually just cattle herders from Africa brought over as slaves to America and used for their skills. Through film and media our culture has established this perception of myth and heroes.
